Welcome to MedStart!
The MedStart Enrichment program at Mount Sinai School of Medicine is designed for middle-school students (6-8th grade) who are interested in science and medicine or who would benefit from a more interactive approach to learning.
Each summer, we hold a one-week “mini-medical school” camp that is completely FREE to participants—MetroCards, lunch, t-shirts, BLS certification and trophies are all provided without any cost to students who are accepted to the program. More information about the summer program can be found here.
Over the past year, we also started a new program that teaches participants about specialized areas of medicine during the school year. Our Fall 2011 module focused on Sports and Emergency Medicine and our Spring 2012 sessions introduced students to Neurology, Drug Awareness and Sexual Health, and Surgery. More information about the year-round program is available here.
We hope that you will join us to continue our quest for knowledge, health, and power in East Harlem!
